My maid of 9 years finally left for home last sunday. sent her off at the airport, said goodbye, and went off with daniel psy and xj to catch quantum of solace (which actually is, chronologically, 2 hours right after casino royale ends off, so you must draw strong links from casino royale, if not the film will just be totally confusing to you, which was to me lol). didnt really feel much.. maybe cause my brother and father, both being "old" were also pretty much emotionless, and my maid was quite excited to finally go home la.before she left, she left a box of chocolates with us. i didnt check it out till today. in the bag i found a letter she had written to us. it was written in her familiar distinct hand writting and broken english, just like the ones she writes in my birthday cards. she didnt write much. said she would miss us, and that my dad and mum were just like her own parents.. and told us to take care of ourselves
i think i never cried so hard since primary school... haha how silly and unmanly(extremely opposite of me, i very manly), 19 already still can bawl until liddat sia lol... but what can i say... she was just like a sister to me.. 9 years. to date she has been with my family for half of my life. longer than i have known almost all my friends whom i still keep in constant contact now (record is 13 years, yan wentao you bitch).
i guess i never felt like she really left till 2 days later, when i saw her goodbye letter. i just couldnt really phantom the fact that when i come back from school/work(camp) that i wouldnt see her at home anymore nor hear her familiar voice.
but well.. it had to end sooner or later.
so Athun though 99.8% you wouldnt see this, i bid you farewell, and hope your future life turns out awesomely. you will be missed by us really, as much as you would miss us i am sure. take care of yourself, and hold on to your money tightly, don't let thoes bastard men sap you dry, heard too many stories about them.
