Applying wad u have learnt
Lol, went to watch Death Note today with the brudderhood. The movie is totally different from the manga, and the plot is quite nice also lor. So for all the ppl who havent watched it yet, go watch. It should be no.1 on ur priority list, just like how Eng Wah is always first on weep's priority list and rock climbing on willy's.Lol Yan An, u seriously missed the good show sia.. Right after u left the train today, we got to apply critical thinking that we just learnt from the movie lor..
Nk and I were toking halfway then was abt to reach the next train station (the one after Toa Payoh, wadever it is..). This Malay 30+ yrs old guy walked up to us, holding a handphone with a black screen in his hand.
Then he suddenly ask Nk: "Are u shortsighted?"
Then Nk was like quite stunned and replied "Yar"
Man: "Can i borrow ur specs for a while?, i nid to sms my wife"
Nk: "Huh? U want me to help u sms?"
Man: "Err.. dun nid lar.. its something quite personal"
Nk: "Aiya nvm lar, i help u sms lar, this kind of problem nothing d lar"
(Im sure Nk act so beng)
Man: "Err no lar i quarelled with my wife, then i want to sms her lar but i shortsighted so cannot see lar.. If u are scared that i will take ur specs then i sit beside u lar"
(Yes Yan An, that's the seat that u left empty)
Nk: "Err cannot lar.. I also nid my specs lar.."
Then the guy looks quite pissed off, then he tried his luck with some guy opp. us and then some other guy beside the empty seat that Yan An left behind (Yan An all ur fault lol) and then he went to another carriage lar...
So where is the critical thinking part? Nk and i were like toking abt the incident then Nk suggested that maybe he's like trying to con Nk of his specs lar.. Then we were like cannot be wad.. specs can sell how much lor.. but it is still super suspicious.. cause he didnt even ask how many degrees is Nk's specs..
Maybe.. just maybe he was aiming for something else.. but wad can he be aiming for??? u ask for specs then next u ask for someone's wallet??? cant be wad
So we were like brainstorming.. short sightedness.. sms... personal... then I just suddenly got it lor..
He was aiming for Nk's handphone.. (Just a guess lar, maybe he realli only needed the specs)
It all sounds quite logical lor.. I mentioned that he was holding a handphone in his hand
just now wad.. and it is quite wierd for someone not to switch on his handphone when he's outside.. somemore when he was quarreling with his wife..
We figured that if he just come straight up and ask for handphone, no one will lend him his handphone.. so to make it more convincing, he nid to pretend that he din expect to borrow someone's handphone to sms his wife.. and by borrowing Nk's specs.. Nk will feel more obliged to lend him his handphone too (song fo song dao xi).. and since he also has Nk's specs as hostage, Nk probably cant refuse to lend him his handphone.. But luckily Nk din lend him the specs lar..
The next point is that who will be so insincere to sms to apologise to his wife? Must call instead wad..
And... he sounded very suspicious when he said it is something personal and dun wanna let nk sms his wife for him, it may just be his ploy to not let anyone noe beforehand that his hp is not working..
So we concluded that he wanted to con Nk by doing the following:
1)Borrow Nk's Specs
2)Act as though he just discovered his handphone died on him or no batt.
3)Borrow Nk's handphone
4)ZHAO!
Well that was our conclusion lar, after applying critical thinking on our everyday life..
On a sidenote, Eugene im sure u never even reply me when i sms u to ask if u going to watch deathnote with us.. u zai diao.. next time i probably will just ignore u
