Superman returns!
CT ENDED TODAY!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. sorry to those taking bio tmr, can't help it but start celebrating already. but i believe ppl taking bio won't read this tonight anyway.maths paper was ok, better than all the other previous papers. a great paper to end the cts.
ok, so end of cts, not going to think of mugging stuff anymore!

after math paper, went down to pastamania@j8 to eat linner with the brudders. wah wasted my money. i had creamy chicken pasta and it sucks. the first few spoonfuls still ok, after that it got more and more sickening until i felt like puking after eating it. hard to describe the taste, its simply creamy, and thats all. even the pasta we cooked at ccal camp and jex is nicer lor. i'm going to avoid pastamania from now on.
watched superman returns after that. its a must watch! cause its 2.5 hrs long! value for money sia. ok besides that its also quite good, although i must say it isn't the best show to watch after taking your physics paper 1 day ago. i just kept thinking about physics through the whole show.
first was when he started levitating. i was thinking of the formula
Upward Force - Weight = Mass x Acceleration due to gravity
then when he swooped around breaking the falls of ppl from skyscrapers, i kept wondering if the fall wasn't the only thing he broke, since F = ma and if the person was falling at 30m/s, he would decelerate by 30m/s in 1 sec and F = 55(30) and since theres gravity also, it would be F = 55(30+9.8) = 2189N, blah blah blah, i think it doesn't make a diff if superman swoops below to cushion his fall, except that the ground probably isn't as hard as him.
then theres this bullet scene which reminded me of this qn which appeared in the physics ct. for the benefit of those who havent seen it yet, i shall type it here:
It is well-known that bullets fired at Superman's chest simply rebound elastically. Suppose that a gangster sprays Superman's chest with 3.0g bulletes at the rate of 100 bullets per minute, the speed of each bullet being 500m/s, what is the average force exerted by the stream of bullets on his chest? (Assume that the bullets hit Superman horizontally and rebound horizontally from his chest.)
A)2.5N B)5.0N C)150N D)300N
an amazing display of creativity and humour from the rj physics dept indeed.
i think i have probably gone insane from mugging physics, can't get it out of my head. but superman is really a great show, if you have time to spare and money to spend, do go and watch it!
